Palm Kernel Oil Pressing Palm kernel oil pressing processing line is simple with usual oilseeds. The pre-pressing by oil pressing machine can obtain 1/4 palm kernel oil, and residual oil need twice pressing. Palm Kernel Filtering Section
How do palm oil mills work?
It all begins with the transportation of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from plantation sites to the palm oil mills. The milling operation includes several stages, namely reception, sterilization, threshing, digestion and pressing, clarification and purification, and kernel recovery.
What is the process of palm oil milling?
The FFB are transported to palm oil mills that are usually located within the oil palm plantation for processing. The harvested FFB need to be processed immediately to minimize the rise of free fatty acids (FFA) that determine palm oil quality. The basic oil palm milling process has remained relatively unchanged for many years.
How efficient is palm oil milling?
The overall palm oil milling efficiency in terms of oil recovery is typically about 90¨C93%, depending on plant machinery and process control. The typical crude palm oil extraction rate (OER) during the milling process is in the region of 18¨C23% by weight to FFB, while the palm kernel extraction rate (KER) ranges between 4 and 6%.
